Sergeant Barb Hendrickx became a police officer for the City of Coconut Creek Police Department in January 2013. During her first five years as an officer, she was the bike patrol officer representative on her team as well as a Field Training Officer. In March 2018, Barb was transferred into the Criminal Investigations Division as a Detective. In August 2018, Barb was promoted to the Sergeant over the Community Services Unit. Barb currently is a member of the Crisis Negotiation Team, the department’s Recruitment Team, and proudly serves as one of the founding members and is an instructor for the Self-defense Awareness & Familiarization Exchange program.

Barb attended Florida Atlantic University and studied Political Science. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree, Barb worked in the public sector in various executive management positions including Regional Loss Prevention Manager and District Operations Manager.

In April 2022, Barb was voted in as President of the Broward Multi-Agency Pride Coalition.
